HTC is apparently working on a new entry-level bezel-less phone codenamed Breeze. The phone in question will apparently be called the Desire 12, as and when it’s officially announced, according to serial tipster Even Blass. HTC recently launched the U11 EYEs bringing the U11+’ tall-screen 18:9 aspect ratio to the masses, but, with the Breeze, HTC may be looking to tone it down further for the entry-level segment both in terms of specs as well as in terms of price. The HTC Breeze, Blass had previously tipped, will come with a 5.5-inch 18:9 screen (of an unspecified resolution), and an unspecified MediaTek processor on the inside. It will apparently come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. On the camera front, it would come with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. The Breeze would further be backed by a 2,730mAh battery. The U11+ was HTC’s first phone to ship with an edge-to-edge, near bezel-less screen and an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9 — as against the regular 16:9 seen in the U11 — much on the lines of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the iPhone X. The U11 EYEs, launched by the company in January, is HTC’s second phone to ship with such a screen set-up. And it has been seemingly designed for the masses.ALSO READ: HTC U11 EYEs tones down the U11+, adds dual front cameras for portrait selfiesIt’s also using a 6-inch screen – of the Super LCD 3 type – but the resolution has been brought down to a 1080p+. In typical HTC U fashion, the U11 EYEs is also carved out of highly polished glass — Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 — that reflects light differently when viewed from different angles. The outer frame is, meanwhile, carved out of solid metal. So are the power button and the volume rocker.advertisementOn the inside, the U11 EYEs crams a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable by up to 2TB via a micro-SD card slot. And when clubbed with HTC’s slick, bloat-free Sense UI — atop Android Oreo — the U11 EYEs should technically entail in a power-house of a phone. The U11 EYEs ships with the same rear camera setup as the U11 and sports a dual camera system – 5-megapixel + 5-megapixel – on the front which helps assist in taking portrait selfies or selfies with a shallow depth of field or bokeh.
