first_imgBATON ROUGE, La. – Carlee Wallace singled home Emily Carosone with the game-ending run of Auburn’s 6-5 nine-inning win over Tennessee on Saturday, giving the Tigers their first Southeastern Conference tournament championship.Carosone hit a leadoff single and moved to second on Branndi Melero’s one-out groundout to bring up Wallace, whose line drive barely stayed inside the third-base line.The Tigers (49-9) had never reached the SEC tournament finals.The Vols (42-14) led 5-3 in the seventh before Auburn, with a large assist from Tennessee, tied it.Wetumpka advances to state tournamentWetumpka advances to state tournamentCarosone singled, moved to third on a Kasey Cooper double and scored on a Melero groundout to pull the Tigers within one.
