Japan spikers get better of Poland

first_img GET THE BEST OF THE JAPAN TIMES Japan came back from two sets down to beat Poland for its second win in the preliminary round of the men’s volleyball World League on Sunday.Yu Koshikawa and Takahiro Yamamoto led Japan’s rally in the third set and Koshikawa’s three consecutive service points proved the key in the final set as the host snapped its losing streak against the Poles at 14 games with a 29-31, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-11 win. The result at Ariake Colosseum improved Japan’s record in Group D to 2-4 while Poland, runnerup in the 2006 world championships, dropped to 3-3.
