The Concepcion, Iloilo native first snared gold in the 1,500m run Monday before following it up with another in the 3,000m with 11:6.67.Cayetano finished way ahead of Rosemarie Espana of Bohol and Marjorie Canajela of Leyte, who settled for silver and bronze with 11:47.11 and 12:18.64, respectively.“I’m running to get a scholarship and finish school because we’re poor,” said the 16-year-old Cayetano, who was hoping to capture her third gold medal in the 4x400m relay Wednesday, Nov. 30.Negros Occidental native Trexie Dela Torre also made her presence felt by capturing gold in the girls’ 13-15 long jump, where she defeated the heavily favored Myla Prince Repedro of Dasmariñas, Cavite.Dela Torre, from Romanito Maravilla National High School, scored 5.17m to beat Reperdro, who had 5.15m. Another Negrense, Franzine Alama, finished third with 4.93m.“I am happy that I won a gold medal here in Batang Pinoy,” said dela Torre. “This is not just a personal battle for me.
